Empties & Mini Reviews | November

Wednesday, December 06, 2017

So here it is guys. The penultimate Empties post for 2017. I’m super excited to create my little spreadsheet tallying up how many of each product I used up over throughout the year. This month I’ve even used up a couple candles! I haven’t done that for years mainly due to it being a safety issue with little children running around but also because I’ve never found candles that I loved enough to burn to the end. Right, without losing myself on this tangent, let’s jump right into the Mini Reviews:

DW White Pumpkin Candle

This smells incredible and edible and I enjoyed every second of burning this. I love the gorgeous packaging. I love the rose gold topper. I love everything about it. I’ll definitely be getting this again but I’ve got a few other scents to get through from this brand/line already.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

Haven’t I mentioned this before? Best. Micellar. Water. On. The. Market. Does the job, really well, at great price point.

Nuxe Creme Fraiche De Beaute 48HR Moisturiser

Didn’t expect much from this but it was delightful to the last drop. Very silky smooth texture that absorbs very quickly. Super hydrating with a beautiful scent.

Resultime Hydrating Cream

Very elegant texture that I looked forward to using every morning. Really want to repurchase it now but I’ll have to save up as it’s not the cheapest ;)

Rodial StemCell Super Food Cleanser

I’ve mentioned this before. A gorgeous cream cleanser/hydrating mask that plumps and nourishes.

Omorovicza Refining Polisher

Exfoliating. Luxurious. Where a peel meets a mask meets a face scrub. I would only repurchase this as part of a huge sale or set but I love it and thankfully have a few of these tubes in my stash right now.

Laura Mercier Golden Honey Musk Honey Bath

A heavenly scented rich bath treat. The scent lasts on my body and clothes for a good couple of days. One of the few truly luxurious products I would buy for myself.

Soap & Glory Heel Genius

Another frequent feature. Why? Because it’s amazing for my feeties. Simple!

Antipodes Divine Face Oil

A rich facial oil that I reviewed recently.

Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask

I like it. I don’t love it. It’s very wet. I found the gel tricky to handle. And once I did finally apply it, it was a little too slippery and a weird fit. Left my skin wonderfully bouncy though. So wouldn’t mind buying again...if I find them at TK Maxx on sale again ;)

Maria Nila Luminous Colour Masque

This smells amazing. Left my hair so soft and shiny. I have only seen a couple of other people mention this brand but I am curious to try more after trying this.

Grown Alchemist Balancing Toner

A gentle toner that helps balance skin after cleansing. Loved it a lot more when I first used it but now since using more hydrating toners, it doesn’t quite hit the spot for me anymore.

Mahogany Naturals Relaxing Rose & Geranium Bath Salts*

Beautiful bath salts that helped me relax. Also great for decongesting. A little too pricey for me but would make a lovely gift.

Fresh Rose Mask

A lush hydrating mask with a gloopy gel texture. I’m not the biggest fan of rose scented products but I didn’t mind it here. What I did mind is the floating rose petal bits.

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara Sample

I have a rule about mascaras in that I refuse to pay more than a tenner for mascaras. But this is the first time I actually would dish out a significantly higher amount for one. It makes my lashes look incredible & better in every way.

Scrub Love Coconut Body Scrub - Coconut Cranberry

I enjoyed this on my skin. I didn’t like the scent too much.

OGX Penetrating Argan Oil

A nice oil for added shine and locking in moisture. Good for the price.

Laura Mercier Full Blown Volumising Supreme Mascara

Rubbish when I first opened it so much so that it was my go-to no mascara mascara. Got better as it dried. But not so good that I’ll bend my high-end mascara rule.

Glossier Super Glow

Nope. Not worth the price. Weird watery formula. Just don’t bother.

Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Gel*

As a big fan of brush washing, I was super excited to try this out and thought it would enrich my brush washing endeavours. It did not. It was very drying and stripping. And didn’t get stains out. Even after double washing. Better to stick to baby shampoo.

Amphora Aromatics Citrus Tonic

The scent is pretty but just didn’t come through when burnt.

Dr Ceuticals Pumice Foot Scrub

Completely useless. I’ve used face scrubs that were harsher than this. And those probably would’ve been more effective on my feet.

Dr. Bronner's Magic Lip Balm

Just didn’t like it. Far too slippery on the lips. Nothing special.

Senspa Relaxing Body Butter

Wouldn’t absorb into my body no matter how long I worked at it. Could only use it on completely dry skin so used it up on my legs every time I went to the loo (sorry...TMI but truth!).

Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Oil*

I used to love this but recently as I came to the end of the bottle I started to dislike it more and more. It’s a lightweight oil that removes makeup without stripping or irritating the skin. It’s just so irritating to my eyes. I don’t use it in my eye area but still it stings my eyes and I actually would end up dreading using this to remove my makeup each night.

Can you believe this year is almost over? Have you ever changed your mind on something you once loved? I'd love to know...
