empties and mini reviews, products ive used up this month, bodycare, skincare, makeup

project pan, empty products and reviews, skincare review, makeup review, haircare review, body care review

It’s funny that I started off the year resenting empties posts - I didn’t enjoy writing them and so they were the posts I felt I had to force myself to write. And as we draw to a close with this year, they’ve turned out to be my most consistent posts and the ones that I personally value the most. If I continue with these posts for the next couple of months I will have a fabulous report of my entire beauty product consumption for the entire year. I can see how many of what I’ve used up and therefore highlight to myself how ludicrous it is for me to hoard as many products as I do. I can’t wait! :) Now on with the show, you know the usual drill - what I love, like and hate from what I’ve used up this month with a short comment on my experience with each product.

THE ONES I WILL DEFINITELY REPURCHASE

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Hell-Pore Clean Up AHA Fruit Toner
This quirky Korean gem was a TK Maxx find that is an acid toner to cleanse and exfoliate the skin. It contains lactic, hyaluronic, glycolic and salicylic acids alongside niacinamide and adenosine and I find it gentle enough for daily use. As with other gentle acid toners this is a great everyday maintenance product to help with getting rid of dead skin cells, keeping pores clear and brightening the complexion. It’s not drying or irritating and one I’d enjoy using again in the future.

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50 PA+++
Lightweight. Non drying. No white cast. No tacky feeling. Sinks in quickly. Great under makeup. Using 2nd tube already which is in the prettier newer packaging.

Blossom Jeju Camellia Soombi Sheet Masks*
Probably one of the best sheet masks I’ve ever tried. Love all three. The step one camellia oil takes this to the next level in terms of hydration. And it’s an amazing fit on my face. A winner. Will definitely be getting some more of these.

Skimono Hand Mask
Super hydrating hand mask that I thoroughly enjoyed. Left my hands feeling softer than ever. And they have this convenient tab to secure the gloves in place.

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm
Best lip balm ever. Need to work out how many tubs of this I actually get through a year so I can buy ahead in the next French pharmacy sale.

Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Body Souffle
An indulgent body cream with a delicious scent. Lightweight, hydrating, and a lovely treat to pamper and relax with.

Atrixo Hand & Nail Cream
Classic. I keep a tub of this in my kitchen to use after every single washing up session. It’s no frills but does the job.

Johnson's Baby shampoo
I use this in combination with some tea tree oil to clean my brushes. I'm yet to find something that does the job as efficiently and at such an appealing price point as this.
I also used up:

THE ONES I MIGHT REPURCHASE (basically if they ever go on offer)

Mahogany Naturals Manuka Face Cream
A gorgeous daily moisturiser that sinks in instantly, isn’t greasy and is truly nourishing on the skin. The price point (£50) is the only thing stopping me from buying it again as I purchased it on sale in the first place.

Ogx Keratin Oil Shampoo & Conditioner*
Gorgeous scent. Enjoyed these a lot but more so for the scent rather than how they helped my hair. Also, got near impossible to squeeze the shampoo out after it reached the halfway mark.

Caudalie Glycolic Peel
Love using this super gentle face mask before makeup for a special occasion. Wouldn’t mind using it again but I think I prefer the Ren Glycolactic.

Grown Alchemist Gentle Gel Facial Cleanser
When I first got this I loved it. Since I stopped using it for a long while, I don’t know if it went funny in that time or if my taste has changed but it didn’t excite me the way it used to. It was a little too on the foaming side for me. A pleasant light scent nonetheless.

I also used up:
Grounded Clay Facial Cleanser*
Institut Esthederm L'Osmoclean
Benecos Hand Cream
L'Occitane Body Milk
Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask
Evolve Beauty Moisturiser
Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day

THE ONES I NEVER WANT IN MY LIFE EVER AGAIN, NEVER NO WAY!
Senspa Bath Soak
Smells gorgeous but dried out my skin while I was still in the tub. There are so many more affordable bath soak options on the market that are more pleasurable to use.

Elf Eyelid PrimerI’ve had this for years and it’s been long expired I’m sure. I used to use this a lot back in the day but these days I rarely use an eye primer anymore. Its quite slippery and doesn't really ever dry down.

The Estée Edit Overnight Water Pack Mask
A very rich overnight mask but was just too greasy. Hydrating but greasy. Didn’t enjoy using it at all.
Balance Me Radiance Face Oil
I can’t put my finger on why I hated this Oil so much. Ended up using it up on my legs.

Cowshed Gorgeous Cow Body Lotion

Gorgeous formula. Hideous scent. Like synthetic chemical banana scent, with a hint of vomit?

Garnier Olia Hair Colour
This is a great product in terms of imparting colour onto my dark brown almost black hair. It turned my hair red. So thumbs up in that respect. Also no hideous scent. But! It turned all my hair a vibrant berry red, my scalp too. It’s far too vibrant for my liking. It lacks the elegance I want in which I want the colouring to remain mostly discreet and only visible in certain light or when I move my hair. Not bright red visible from afar under any lighting at all times causing alarm to me when I see my reflection! I've been using a scalp scrub to help diffuse the colour but its just too much.

Which do you like most about Empties posts - reading about why someone loves something or why someone hates something? I'd love to know...
