bobbi brown makeup haul, nyx haul, charlotte tilbury hollywood lips show girl, elf cosmetics haul

It’s been a while since I’ve done a haul post. I have significantly cut down my makeup collection and how often I purchase new makeup. But every now and then an offer or product will get my attention that I just can’t ignore. Here are some of the bits I’ve purchased over the last month or so - its a mixed bag of a few high end and budget friendly brands.

NYX COSMETICS

I visited the NYX stand a couple of weeks ago to replenish my NYX HD Finishing Powder which I’ve hit pan on. But being the sensible shopper that I am now, apparently, I decided to wait to buy it again while I use some other powders in my collection. Instead I opted to buy something that has been at the top of my NYX wish list for the longest time - NYX Micro Brow Pencil - Espresso | £8. And it doesn’t fail to impress. This dinky little double ended pencil allows me to fill in and define my brows like a pro, the shade is perfect for my dark but sparse brows and it just might take the top spot from Soap &Glory Archery which had been a firm favourite for a couple years now.

I’ve also been on the hunt for a deep brown liner to use with my lighter nude lipsticks and despite being overwhelmed by the amount of choices NYX has for lip liners, I found one that ticks all the boxes (except that I wish it was retractable because I’m lazy like that). NYX Slide On Lip Pencil - Intimidate | £6 has a gorgeously creamy formula that doesn’t drag or catch at my lips. I’ve been using it a lot to fill in my whole lips and sometimes just to add some extra definition to the outer corners. The shade is a medium brown that doesn’t lean too red or grey and I can see this being a bit of a staple lip product for me.

BOBBI BROWN

20% off. Need I say more. I couldn’t resist. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get my hands on a product I’ve wanted to try for ages and also try out a couple of new things I’d been curious about. Firstly I got Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick - Taupe | £23As a lover of a nude eye and cream shadows this is the best of both worlds. It lasts all day and makes an excellent base for other shadows too and the shade is absolutely perfect for everyday use. I’ve been using it so much since getting it and I am thrilled to have finally made the purchase. Another item I’m loving is Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow - Mahogany | £18 which is a dark ash brown that I got to fill in my brows. And it does the job perfectly. It’s neither too warm nor too cool, it isn’t too pigmented which means I still have some control of how butch I want to make my brows and it lasts well during the day. Finally I decided to try Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil - Black Plum | £19 which appeared more plummy brown on the website than purple. But no, it’s a deep purple and to make matter worse, it has some glitter running through it. It’s not really for me so I’m currently looking for a new home for it.

ELF COSMETICS

I was an e.l.f. Cosmetics addict about 5 years ago mainly because it’s the only brand YouTubers used back in those days and they had a UK warehouse for their ridiculously budget friendly products. I didn’t realise that the new site ships from US but orders aren’t charged any extra customs. Long story short, I’m happy to have e.l.f. in my life again as they have some amazing products and regularly have fabulous offers like 50% off everything, the very promo I took advantage of to get my hands on some new bits.

I’ve loved almost every brush I’ve tried from their Studio line before and wanted to get my hands on the elf Crease Brush | £4.50 that so many people swear by. It’s a little bit looser than I expected, in that it’s moves too easily from side to side when I go to blend, but it is a great brush to add colour and blend in the crease. I've just noticed they have a couple of new fluffy/blending brushes on their site so I will definitely be trying those next time they have a sale. I also got a few face brushes to try out which all just fall short of truly impressive but aren’t bad at all. elf Selfie Ready Foundation Brush | £7.50 works with liquids and powders but I do find that it leaves streaks. I got the elf Highlighting Brush | £4.50 and elf Small Tapered Brush | £4.50 to set my undereye concealer and apply powder to my face and whilst I have been using them, they're not as soft and fluffy as I'd like them to be.

I also got two elf Lip Exfoliators | £4.50 in two flavours. Firstly they smell delicious. Secondly they come in the form of lipstick bullets making them super convenient and cleaner to use than pot scrubs. So far I’m enjoying the coconut one but I can see myself using them up pretty quickly so they will definitely be part of my next order for sure.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY

My love for Charlotte Tilbury makeup runs deep so when she released her version of a liquid lipstick I knew I’d need to try them. Sadly the shade range isn’t too appealing to me but there was one shade in particular that caught my eye instantly and it had to be mine. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips - Show Girl | £24 is a beautiful, deep rosy berry shade that just looks incredible on. I also really like the formula which is quite whipped and moussey and despite this actually applies really well and is super comfortable on the lips. You get the illusion of matte plump lips without the usual dryness. Of course this comes at a price as this isn’t the longest lasting formula but this shade is deep enough to fade away by leaving a bit of a stained look to the lips rather than looking worn off or patchy.

So there you have my latest makeup haul. I feel like it’s a pretty sensible haul even if I say so myself.

Is there anything here you love or would love to try? What have you bought recently and fallen in love with? I’d love to know.
