eid makeup menu for indian medium asian skintone

Generally speaking, 'Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations consist of dressing up, eating more than your body can handle after becoming accustomed to fasting for a month and obviously watching the kids party harder than us all with presents and sweets flying around all over the place! I always eat too much and then regret it by 12pm, but it doesn't stop me from eating though ;) And of course finding the time to get my makeup done is a challenge but when I do, it always makes it feel like 'Eid is well and truly underway.

As always I opted for my usual special occasion makeup suspects and this time I used a couple of new things to really spice it up with a few special touches! Also, I had to travel with my products so I tried not to take anything too precious or too fragile with me. I didn't get to do my full face of makeup until 5pm this 'Eid but just doing this look and enjoying it for even 6 hours was more than enough for me.

I'm really enjoying Hylamide HA Blur Primer these days which is great at keeping my skin matte, blurring out my pores and helping keep my makeup in place all day without drying out my skin or making things slide around too much. Estée Lauder Double Wear - Cashew is such a reliable base product for all-day wear because it sets into place, doesn't turn dry powder matte or flat, and the shade is a fantastic match for my skin.

For my under eyes, I went the extra mile to cover up the dark circles resulting from staying up all night cooking a feast. First I patted on some NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer - Ginger which I blended out with my finger, followed by some Urban Decay Naked Concealer - Medium Neutral to help brighten the area some more. This was all blended in for almost 10 minutes using Real Techniques Makeup Eraser Sponge which fits in perfectly in the contours of the under eye area and diffuses the concealer for a flawless finish.

I used the same little sponge to press on some NYX HD Finishing Powder - Banana over my concealer to further brighten and set everything into place. For my face I reached for one of the best pressed powders on the market, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish - 2 Medium which I pressed on with a dense domed contour brush. The powder has an excellent blurring effect that helps the foundation look even more flawless and keeps things locked in place all day without looking dry or cakey.

My current favourite eye products also happen to make great eyeshadow bases. Topshop Smoke Sticks blend well, don't crease and stay put all day so I applied a layer of Trickster and blended it out for a sheer wash of gold shimmer with my fingers. For my eyeshadow I reached for my beloved Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Quad which has all the shades I need for a simple but beautiful brown smokey eye look. I used Burnt Orange to blend out the edges of the Topshop Smoke Stick and a touch of Morocco and Fudge in the crease and lower lash line. Finally I applied Stila Magnificent Metals - Bronzed Bell on my lids as a blindingly stunning finishing touch. This product is incredible for parties or special occasion makeup because it literally is like bling for your eyes!

I would usually opt for a gel liner for special occasions but my Inglot gel liner is drying out so I took the easy option of a pen liner with me. And currently I'm obsessed with DHC Liquid Eyeliner EX* which has a flexible brush tip, is sufficiently black and makes application easy and quick. I also took some Rodial Smokey Eye Pen to deepen the look my lash line. To complete the eyes I reached for my holy grail mascara Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara which curls, volumises and lifts my lashes like no other.

I took Mahogany Naturals Retractable Eyebrow Pencil* with me because I knew it would be easy to use and compact to pack in my bag. This pencil helps me add some colour, definition and shape to my brows quickly. I then applied Pixi Brow Tamer to keep my brows in place all day. This gel is great because it helps diffuse the colour and doesn't make my brows go crispy.

For special occasions I do like to do a spot of more obvious contouring and Sleek Face Contour Kit - Medium is one of my favourites for this. I used some along the hollows of my cheek, a little on my nose and some along the hair line. I had to use my current favourite highlighter along with it because Laura Gellar Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator - Gilded Honey* is that perfect gold toned highlighter to give my complexion an almost wet looking glow. Sounds weird but looks amazing!

For blush I took 3 options in the form of Becca Blushed By Light Blush Palette and ended up choosing Songbird for this look. It's a beautiful orange brown with a light golden shimmer running through it so it works great with Gilded Honey and the overall undertone works with the eye look I went for. This palette also travels really well and comes with a mirror so it's perfect.

Finally, I took a whole range of lip options with me, mainly liquid lipsticks because I knew I'd need something long lasting. I chose Lime Crime Matte Velvetine - Cindy after much deliberation which is a terracotta Brown that is so flattering on my complexion and works with a warm brown smokey eye so well. The formula is one of my favourites being one of the more comfortable to wear over a long time.
