mini skincare and body care reviews

I have to begin with a little pat on my own shoulder. Haha! I managed to get through loads more products this month and I cannot be happier. The shopaholic in me just needs to relax a little and then I can truly start seeing the fruits of my labour.

I'm going to structure this month's Empties post a little bit differently - I'm taking inspiration from the wonderful Mili - Sharmtoaster (if you're not already following her, I highly recommend you do!) and I'm curious to see if this structure works for me too.

skincare I would definitely repurchase

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash has been in my life for years. Its usually a scent I pull out in the summer because the zesty scent is so refreshing and cooling but I missed it too much. Love this and always will.

Dove Nourishing Care Shower Oil has been a saviour for my dry skin this winter. I've really enjoyed layering my body hydration products to ensure the cold weather doesn't dry out my skin too much. It smells so lovely and washes off and leaves my skin feeling velvet soft.

Burts Bees Multipurpose Ointment is actually a product I use on my girls mostly but every now and then mumma bear can't help but slather this yumminess all over herself. Its a rich petroleum-free balm packed full of an assortment of natural oils. This makes my skin (and my daughters' skin) beautifully soft and nourished.

Mitchum Ultimate is a men's product yes, but I stole it from the husband because it smells incredible and I really wanted to try the cream/gel version. I really like it but I don't know if its significantly better than the regular version. Having said that, I will definitely get a women's scented gel version soon.

Institut Karite Shea Hand Cream is such a luscious rich treat for my paws. When I think about it, most of my favourite hand creams are French - I just think they get the balance between rich and nourishing but never greasy just right.

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser looks an absolute state but this is easily one of my favourite skincare products ever. It makes my skin look clearer and brighter instantly. I like to use this after wearing a full face of makeup as my second cleanse/mask. Its a shame the packaging doesn't reflect the quality of the product inside.

PreLab Toning Peeling Tap is an innovative and exciting Korean skincare product that has combined acid toning with hygienic and fun packaging and applicator. The toner is potent but not stripping or irritating and reveals a glowing complexion. You just squeeze the little pod and the toner is pushed out into the little sponge on the tip and you just swipe it all over for your face. Super fun.

Wish Formula Bubble Peeling Pad was kindly included as a free sample with my first ever Buttermilk Skincare order. This is another fun and innovative Korean product that exfoliates the skin while cleansing. I was expecting this to be quite harsh but it wasn't...you just rip open the pack and squish the pad and the product lathers up. You give your face a good swipe with the more abrasive side for a couple of minutes. Then you flip the pad over to the smoother side and use it to pat the vitamin into the skin. Such an interesting and effective product.

Nugg Beauty Hydrating Face Mask took me by surprise because I didn't expect it to be quite so lovely as it was. It smells like frangipane and the gel like mask hydrates and plumps the skin up and you're left with an incredibly supple and bouncy face.

Boots Botanics Hydration Burst Day Lotion SPF15 was a perfect choice for me with my skin becoming seriously dehydrated this winter. It layers on top of serums really nicely and is thoroughly hydrating. I love LOVE the fact that it has a pump too.

CosRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask is one that Mili - Sharmtoaster actually raves about a lot so I bought a full size already. It isn't too thick or greasy so there wasn't a chance of making too much mess overnight. In the morning I woke up to beautiful plump skin that didn't feel greasy or slippery. I can't wait for my full size tube to arrive because this will make such a nice weekly treat.

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm is no stranger to my blog since I've been through pots and pots of the stuff already. Its the perfect overnight lip balm because it nourishes the lips and stays in place. Its not a slippery greasy lip balm making it great to use under lipsticks too.

All of these sheet masks were lovely and I will of course repurchase them if I haven't already got multiples in my collection already.

empties, project pan, panning community, blogger reviews

Good Things Argan Oil Nourishing Cleansing Oil is such a great affordable product that melts off makeup and nourishes the skin at the same time. It smells so sweet and delicious and contains a mix of lovely oils but sadly, I hear this has been discontinued? Such a shame!

Fresh Soy Cleanser surprisingly lasted for a lot more uses than I thought it would considering its just a deluxe sample. It did a lovely job of cleansing my skin and leaving it feeling refreshed but I wasn't a fan of the cucumber scent. It is far too strong for my liking. If this was more easily accessible here in UK then I would most likely repurchase.

Sephora Instant Moisture+ Cream is another one I enjoyed and would happily repurchase instantly if I could get my hands on it more easily. Its a lightweight cream that is super hydrating on the skin. I managed to get 2 uses out of this sample so that's pretty good.

Caudalie Hand Cream is one of my favourite hand cream formulas and this limited edition scent was nice but didn't steal my heart. I still enjoyed using it because the formula is the same as the original which I love so much.

Caudalie Lip Conditioner is nice but not the best lip balm I've ever used. I actually gave these to my daughters because they are nourishing enough for them and really helped their lips avoid cracking so I will get them again for the girls.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is a cult product that is a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment. I have to admit I didn't get it at first but now that I've used it a few times, I have to say my hair really appreciated it. My hair is left softer and more manageable.

These sheet masks are both lovely and I really loved them when I first started getting into sheet masks, but I've come across so many more now that I prefer. I wouldn't say no to using them again though.

products I've used up and mini reviews

Balance Me Restore & Replenish Cream Cleanser was a sample I think I got in a magazine and I have to say its a pretty generous sample. It lasted me a good while and I really enjoyed using it in the mornings. I just know that there are better cream cleansers I prefer that are even more affordable.

Boots Botanics Hydration Burst Dual Burst Cleanser is one that I actually used to enjoy. But nowadays I just find it a little annoying. It does a fabulous job of cleansing without stripping my skin, don't get me wrong, but I just don't like that my skin has to be bone dry to use it as a gel. The tiniest bit of water makes it turn super milky and I find it quite messy. It also doesn't rinse off without leaving a greasy film on the skin unless I use a hot cloth. Sadly no longer for me.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask really is one of the worst I've tried. I know so many people swear by them but I find them overly priced for unimpressive performance and results. It doesn't fit my face at all, isn't nearly as saturated as I'd like and it doesn't leave my face as hydrated as I'd like.

Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm was once a beloved item to me but since using the L'Oreal Lumi Magique primer I don't really have a need for this and I just stopped enjoying using it. It does give the skin a gorgeous luminosity but it makes me excessively greasy and sinks into my pores exaggerating them.

Boots Time Delay Wrinkle Reduce Facial Oil is a thick luscious oil that smells sweet and is able to moisturise the skin wonderfully. It is very greasy and thick though and I never felt like it sank into my skin. It just sits on top like a mask.

L'Occitane Pivoine Flora Hand Cream is not nearly as nourishing as I'd like which is a shame because I love L'Occitane hand creams and the Peony range is my favourite. Similarly Garnier Ultimate Blends Hand Restoring Cream doesn't last well on my hands and doesn't stop my hands from feeling dry.

I have a feeling I probably won't get through this many products over the next month because there really isn't as many things on rotation now that are already half used up. But still, I am happy to say goodbye to all this empty packaging.

Is there anything here you've used and love/hate? Do you prefer this structure or do you like when the products are grouped into their respective categories? I'd love to know...
