whamisa skincare, zoeva matte palette swatches, makeup haul, skincare haul, the body shop masks

I don't really have any redeeming words to open this post with, what with me proclaiming "I'm cutting down my spending" and "I'm cutting down my product stash" so I'll just jump right into all the things that I've added to my collection in the last few weeks.

*hangs head in half shame, half excitement as she types away*

Since introducing Korean skincare products into my skincare routines, my skin has benefited greatly and I'm constantly searching for trustworthy retailers that I can purchase the latest craze from without having to spend an arm and a leg. Recently I stumbled across Buttermilk Skincare, a London based online boutique specialising in the most sought-after Asian Skincare products, and I've placed 3 orders already.

Whamisa is a natural Korean brand focusing on the use of fermented, natural and organic ingredients to nourish the skin to good health. I really wanted the Whamisa Organic Flowers Deep Rich Toner | £28.50 for the winter season as my skin needs all the hydration it can get and I've become a little bit addicted to layering hydrating products in the good old fashioned Korean way. This water-less toner is made with aloe vera, oat kernal, chrysanthemum extract, dandelion oil among other botanical extracts and oils to deeply hydrate and nourish the skin. I bought the Whamisa Sheet Mask Pack | £25 purely as a treat for myself as they are pretty luxury in my books.

[Since purchasing these gorgeous skin treats, I came to realise that these may not be strictly considered to be Halaal - I am still looking into it so in the meantime these will be put aside while I find out.

UPDATE: To the best of my understanding, the process of fermentation used here is not the same as that of alcohol production and is more a process by which to extract certain properties.]

the body shop expert ffacial masks review, glamglow dupe, best drugstore face masks

I've been wanting to try The Body Shop Expert Facial Masks since they were released. A lot of people have heralded the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask | £16 as a dupe for the infamous GlamGlow which obviously has a much heftier price tag so I'm quite excited to see the results of using this for myself. I had to get the Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask | £16 one as well as I love honey especially in my skincare. It's one of those ingredients that gives me immediate results. I also chose the Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask | £16 because ginseng such a wonderful ingredient with so many proven benefits and one that I want to include more of in my skincare. (Thankfully, I managed to get these on offer which never happens!)

A repurchase for me is The Body Shop is Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist | £10 which I've been using for years. Its a soothing, moisturising spritz that I use all over my face during the day, especially when my skin feels super dehydrated. No surprises that I'm close to using up my current bottle thanks to the winter.

Another mist I came across recently was from TK Maxx and its the Balance Me Beauty Skin Bright Toning Mist, which claims to hydrate and boost radiance. I couldn't find this listed on their site but I did notice the brand has given itself a complete face lift with a more coherent range of products, so perhaps this is being phased out. I've been enjoying this as a gentle, hydrating toner in the mornings, refreshing my skin during the day and also as a layering product in the evenings. I can't say it's significantly brightening but I love how it delicately hydrates my skin.

zoeva matte palette review and swatches, zoeva eyeshadow palette, best matte eyeshadow palette

Most exciting of course is the fact that I purchased my first ever Zoeva eyeshadow palette. Despite being tempted by a number of them over the last couple of years, I never took the plunge as I rarely used eyeshadow but all that has changed nowadays. And I'm obsessed with matte eyeshadows so when I saw this palette I didn't wait a second before I purchased it. Zoeva Matte Palette | £17.50 contains a wonderful mix of warm/neutral toned matte shades that can be used to create a variety of shades with some light skin tone shades to a bright red, orange and even a deep purple. I've been obsessed with it and it's definitely helping me to branch out and try newer looks.

I bought ColourPop Brow Pencil - Black N Brown | $5 a few weeks ago and although I loved the pencil and the formula and the convenience of the product, the shade was just too dark for me. I'm not a huge fan of bold brows so I then ordered it in the shade Bangin' Brunette and thankfully it's a much better match for me. It's still a little bit too pigmented and means I have to be very delicate when I use this but I love the overall look I get when I use this and of course the convenience of having the pencil and spoolie in one.

Lastly, I got a couple of items from Superdrug. I decided to try a highly raved about eye liner pen that I've always avoided thinking it was all just hype. To my surprise, L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim Intense Black | £6.99 is easily a drugstore gem that I wish I'd started using sooner. Although the nib is a little stiffer than I'd like, and the finish isn't completely matte, I love how easy this is to use and how quickly I can achieve a perfect wing. It lasts all day without smudging and is super black. There isn't much I can complain about and it's making me question my love of the Stila liner (of course the Tom Ford liner is in a whole different league so I won't even compare them).

I finally repurchased my holy grail mascara - Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99. I've been trying a few samples and new mascaras since this one finished but none of them quite tick all the boxes in the way this does. This is curling, defining and volumising and I love how it makes my lashes look.

I am now on the no-buy/spending ban that I was meant to have been on last month. I feel like I say this all the time but this time, I actually feel quite pleased with my stash and there isn't anything keeping me up at night these days that will get me to falter. So here's hoping there isn't another post of this nature for a little while now ;) wish me luck!

What have you been buying recently? Is there anything here on your wish list? I'd love to know...
