space nk skincare haul and review

Spicy street food, rustic salted caramel brownies and getting caught in a random spell of rain aren't the only highlights from my day in Central London. My sister and I finally enjoyed a day of shopping together after what seems like a century. We popped into Space NK as she's been wanting to get a NARS foundation for a long time and so we decided to spoil ourselves with some goodies. I also received my October Love Me Beauty Edit which is filled with so many amazing things I thought I'd share the whole lot in a haul post.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask | £32

I actually wanted to buy Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask but they didn't have it in the Space NK store we went to and because I don't know when I'll next be going into Central London I didn't opt to have it ordered in. Instead I bought a full size of this mask, which I'd fallen in love with after trying a sample. It's an exfoliating mask that leaves my face brighter and smoother instantly. It contains a whole host of natural fruit acids and I love using it before getting ready for a special occasion when I want my skin looking and feeling its best. If you have dull skin and your face is in need of some refreshing radiance, then this is the mask for you.

This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up | £30

I've been using a deluxe sample tube of this for a while now which I received in a Feel Unique Beauty Box and every time I use it, I love it. It's a moisturiser, mask and primer in one and when I use this as a primer, it always makes my makeup sit better on my skin, makes everything look flawless and my makeup lasts all day. I think because it's so moisturising it helps keep the face looking and feeling better so of course that translates through to the way the makeup looks and feels too. It contains a mix of hyaluronic acid, argan oil, starflower oil and caffiene and smells very refreshing and clean. Even though it doesn't claim to mattify the skin, it doesn't leave a greasy film or a shiny look about the skin. It's just an amazing product that I'm so happy to have a full size of now.

Although it can be slathered on as a hydrating mask, I think it performs far too well as a primer to waste the product like that and I have so many other hydrating masks for that job instead. I've also happily used this as a moisturiser on my combination skin and my skin has thanked me. I think I will be reaching for this a lot in the winter months. If you're looking for a moisturising primer that doesn't necessarily give a dewy finish, then this could be the answer.

BeautyBlender & Solid Cleanser Kit | £18

After years of hearing the hype behind this makeup sponge, I finally picked it up just to see if it really is a cut above the rest. There is a plethora of cheaper versions to choose from and I've tried a couple of them without many complaints so I'm really curious to see what this offers that I've been missing out on without realising. I've yet to try it but it already seems squishier (as much as I love the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, I feel like my original one was a lot more bouncy than the newer ones I've bought which seem more solid when squeezed!) and for me that's a huge plus already. I feel like if the sponge is able to squash right down when bouncing it on the face it helps to apply the makeup more flawlessly. This comes with a mini of the solid brush cleanser which I didn't like when I tried it last time but I'll reserve it just for this and see if it fares better.

Tweezerman Slant Tweezers | £21

Finally I picked up another tool that people claim is the best of its kind. I've been using cheapo generic tweezers, a pair of tweezers from elf cosmetics and some random branded ones for years now but recently I've noticed that the tweezers just don't pick the hairs (I'm all about charming you guys!) I want accurately enough or worse, cut the hairs without plucking them out. I'm hoping the hype of these will turn out to be completely deserved because that's a steep price for tweezers in my opinion, but will be made worth it if they perform exceptionally well and last a lifetime.

I'm not one for monthly subscription boxes but I finally signed up to Love Me Beauty last month because I liked that I get to choose which products I want from the selection and that I can cancel the subscription at any time. This month's selection was so great I'm glad I had signed up and used a code at the sign-up last month to get extra credit. If you'd like to sign up then feel free to use my code: which will give you extra spending credits next month :) SYEDA0065924

love me beauty october beauty box edit benefit, makeup forever, nuxe, merumaya

Everyone loves Benefit minis and I'm still enjoying using the freebie Goof Proof Brow Pencil I got in a magazine a while back but the shade is a tad light for me so I chose the same thing in a darker shade. This pencil is great for creating a defined tail and filling in sparse areas quickly without looking over-drawn. I also really love Roller Lash, which is similar to my favourite Maybelline Lash Sensational, but I'm not willing to pay that much for it so any chance to have a mini of it is a good opportunity for me.

I was excited to see some Makeup Forever products in the line up too and decided on the Aqua XL Matte Black Liner which promises to be super black and long lasting and I adore eye pencils as much as I like coffee in the morning. I also chose to try the Excessive Lash Mascara which is a proper decent sample and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it. I don't pass up on mascara samples as they're always good to have for emergency situations or for travelling.

Finally I chose two skincare bits. I already mentioned how much I'm enjoying trying Merumaya Cleansing Balm recently and I wanted to get this tube for my travel kit. It's a beautifully scented silky balm that melts off makeup and leaves skin feeling soft. And I got Nuxe Reve De Miel Cleansing Gel because I've wanted to try this for a while but didn't want to get a full size just to find out I hate it. Already I can tell the scent is very strong and it could be a deal breaker for me...but I'll give it a go before I decide.

What have you treated yourself with recently? Are you saving up for a special treat? Are you subscribed to any monthly beauty boxes? Let me know...
