review new bdellium tools matte lipsticks #mattenation

Best known for their professional brushes adored by makeup artists and beauty aficionados all over the world, its a little known fact that Bdellium Tools also have lip products among their extensive line-up offering cruelty free lip colours. They have now released a line of matte lipsticks to join their lip crayons and everything from the packaging to the lasting power is impressive.

I'm superficial like that so I have to begin by speaking about the packaging: It's striking, unique, bold and exciting. I love how they've designed these matte black tubes with accents of the iconic Bdellium Tools yellow to make them really stand out. The tubes themselves are weighted (always feels special) and magnetic. And not just in the usual way...yes the lids swoosh back on because they're magnetic but the entire thing is magnetic meaning each tube attaches to the other both standing up or laying flat. It's super fun and gives me all sorts of thrills! :)

Touch Of Eden - Kylie - Last Call

There are 7 striking shades on offer giving you the choice for a number of looks from a light nude to a dark indigo shade. I was sent 3 shades and have swatched 2 of these below.

Touch Of EdenA light peach beige nude shade for fairer skin tones, or a light ombré shade for medium to darker skin tone.

Kylie: This is a medium warm peach that will look great on most skin tones. It's a brightening nude shade on me and I love pairing it with a darker/smokey eye look or a natural nude look.

Last Call: This is the perfect shade for Autumn. A rich berry shade that fills the lips and makes them appear very plump. This will look stunning on everyone.

I do hope there will be a few more 'safer' shades created in the future for those of us who aren't ready to go bare or go bold just quite yet.

I really love the formula of these lipsticks. Some matte lipsticks can be super drying or cling to any dry patches or accentuate lip lines. These are formulated with shea butter and macadamia oil ensuring the lips stay nourished and feeling hydrated all the while. These are creamy and highly pigmented, especially in the case of the darker shade, and still keep the lips feeling comfortable and looking plump. They last a long time on the lips and the darker shade leaves a stain across the lips which means there's no hideous uneven fading.

If you are looking for a dark, sexy matte lipstick for the upcoming season, then you will definitely want to explore these little gems.
