review and swatches colourpop fall collection 2016 zingara

It was love at first sight. From the moment I saw the sneak peek swatches of the part of the ColourPop Fall Collection titled 'Terracotta' I knew I had to have them in my life. They're not all even shades I generally wear but there was something so irresistibly beautiful about them that it made me into one of those weirdos that stalked their Instagram and website counting down the minutes till they went live. And I bought them straightaway. I also managed to get my hands on two of the liquid lipsticks in a previous order, which were included as freebies as a preview, and then proceeded to place another order when the 'Dusty Rose' selection of the Fall Collection was released a few days later.

So I'll begin with this gorgeous warm toned collection which is the reason I got all giddy & excited in the first place. Apart from one liquid lipstick titled Mama (a burnt orange I know I'll never reach for) I got everything from this 'Terracotta' collection which is made up of 3 liquid lipsticks, 4 eye shadows and a blusher.

best warm eyeshadows for autumn colourpop fall collection

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip - Love Bug (rich terracotta) | $6

This is a stunning shade and is every bit as autumnal as you'd like. It looks incredible on my skin tone and I can imagine it looking great on all complexions. The formula is really comfortable too compared to some other Ultra Mattes and is highly pigmented. This shade will have everyone asking you what you're wearing on your lips for sure.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip - Gypsy, renamed Calypso (mid-tone pinky nude) | $6

I love this shade and I'm so glad it's in the satin formula which is much more comfortable on the lips. It's like the sister to Echo Park, which leans more peach, while this is more pink. It's a great every day shade that I will be reaching for a lot.

ColourPop Zingara Super Shock Shadow Quad | $18

Paradox (satin - cool toned burgundy red) Quite possibly the 'wildest' eyeshadow in my collection now (apart from MAC Pink Venus) and completely out of my usual repertoire, this red tone is something I'm going to enjoy experimenting with because it's so different and eye-catching.

Elixir (matte - mid tone true terracotta) I'm loving the warmth of this shade and feel like I will be using it a lot as an all over the lid colour and also in my crease to create some definition.

Seeker (matte - warm reddish brown) This is very similar to ColourPop Super Shock - Bandit which is a shade I use often but this one has an almost burgundy tone about it. I can't wait to put this to more use.

Jinxie (pearlized - soft shimmery gold) This gorgeous shade is that perfect inner corner highlight shade or pop of shimmer on the eyelid. The best thing about this shade is that it makes every single other shade look more fabulous. It reminds me of theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. How can I not love it?

ColourPop Super Shock Cheek Blush - Bardot (pearlized - rusty red copper) | $8

Sadly this stunner arrived dried up and a little worse for wear (thankfully ColourPop have sent out a replacement) but I've pressed this one to make it a little more presentable for this post. Although this is a blusher, I thought this would make a gorgeous eyeshadow. It's dramatic and bound to make a statement. Now that I've tried it, I have to admit it does make a fabulous shade for the eyelids and makes for a lovely blusher. It's a burnt orange shade with a golden shimmer and is an excellent blusher for this season.

I only chose three lipsticks from the 'Dusty Rose' selection of products because I feel like the shadows all had a purple/lilac tone about them that I'm not into at all.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip - Viper (true dusty rose) | $6

This is a deep rose shade that is bold and beautiful. It leans a little more purple than I'd have liked but it looks incredible on my complexion. It reminds me a lot of ColourPop Ultra Matte - Lumiere 2 which also looked a little too purple on my lips.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip - Time Square (muted pink beige) | $6

Although generally I steer clear of nude liquid lipsticks for fear of them looking ashy and settling into lines, I am so glad I took a chance with this one. It's the pinky nude shade I've always searched for that works on my skintone. If this was a regular lipstick I don't think it could be pigmented enough to cover my hyper-pigmented lips. I'm so glad I have this in my collection because a nude lip colour works with any eye look.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip - Baracuda (warm deepened rose) | $6

I don't know why I went mad for it when I first saw the swatches of this. Now that I've got it, I like it...I don't love it. Not on me anyway. It's a beautiful berry mauve shade that I know my sister will enjoy more than me.
