mahogany naturals review, caudalie divine oil review, antipodes divine oil review

If there's one thing I wish I had more time to indulge in, it's a lovely, relaxing, pampering bath session. When I do get the chance, I like to make the most of it and these are some products that I've been loving making a part of my special me-time routine.

MASKS

Unless I need to address a specific skin concern, I usually smother my face with any of my messy, grainy masks that are a pain to remove. I recently purchased The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3 In 1 Moisturising Scrub Mask | £11 and it's a super nourishing treat. It smells like an amazing breakfast concoction and is only let down by the fact that it isn't actually edible because it smells like it should be. This mask is soothing and moisturising and gently exfoliates the skin and leaving my face incredibly soft.

For my hair, I like to create an oil mask weekly combining argan, coconut, neem and olive oil. But when I want to pamper myself I reach for Mahogany Naturals Monoi Healing Oil Serum* | £30 which can be used both before or after washing. I love this because it's smells deliciously sweet and when I wash this out, it leaves my hair soft, super shiny and frizz-free. I find it a little heavy to use afterwards on my fine hair but if it came in a mist...I would be all over that!

SALTS & OILS

Bath salts just scream "relax and unwind" to me. A sprinkling of Mahogany Naturals Relaxing Rose & Geranium Bath Salts* | £25 into my bath tub is perfect when I'm having a bath quite late at night. The scent really does help to soothe me and to de-stress after a long day and helps me to fall asleep quickly. Thankfully the rose scent isn't too overpowering and the balance with the eucalyptus oil is just right. This also hydrates my skin a little meaning my skin isn't left feeling parched after a good stew.

I love using my Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oils as a little pampering treat but I have to say, I'm beginning to get a little bored of their delicate scents. So when I gave Mahogany Naturals Bath & Body Oil* | £30 a go, it almost blew my socks off. This is powerful and effective and the eucalyptus scent is not shy here. I use this with the salts when I am feeling stuffy, sick or sluggish and it clears up any congestion quickly. It is also super moisturising and luscious on the skin and although it can be used as a body oil, I find it too overpowering for me. But a little rubbed on the chest or used as a massage oil makes this an absolute pampering treat.

FACE & BODY

A facial oil is a must for me once I've had a bath as I feel like my dehydrated skin screams for some immediate moisture. Antipodes Divine Face Oil | review£19.99 is a beautifully, silky face oil that nourishes and hydrates the face perfectly. It has a very natural scent which I've slowly grown fond of and leaves my face feeling smooth and hydrated.

I usually use body butters or lotions after showering but to follow up a relaxing bath, I like to use an oil. Caudalie Divine Oil | £27 (there's a theme here...lol!) is a beautiful dry oil containing grape, argan, hibiscus and sesame oil that envelops the skin with gorgeously scented smoothness. It isn't greasy and sinks in instantly, meaning very little time is wasted not relaxing.

Finally, I have a perfume. To ensure that my pampering doesn't end once I come out of the bathroom, a long-lasting scent applied to well nourished skin and hair means I can continue to feel relaxed long after my bath. One of my favourite perfumes in the world is Givenchy Very Irrisistible and I love so many of the variations that have been released. I really like the notes and longevity of Givenchy Very Irrisistible L'Intense Eau De Parfum | £63.50 (currently half price) which is a sweet but musky deep scent that lingers throughout the day.

  2. Fantastic post, I have never gotten into bath salts but I hear they are wonderful. I like my bath to contain a tonne of bubbles and prefer a lavender scent to lull me to sleep. Loved this post, those oils sound gorgeous xxx

  3. Loved the post Sal. I wish I am able to find some time for an indulging bath. It's always quick shower. I am curious about bodyshop scrub mask. I use Bodyshop's African Wisdom Spa scrub for that buttery yet grainy exfoliation. It makes my body super moisturised and exfoliates as well. Have a lovely weekend ๐Ÿ˜˜.

  5. Hi Sal, I've been reading your blog for a while but have never left a comment before. I love this kind of post, pampering nights are the best, though I don't always find the time to do everything I'd like to do (like manicure, pedicure, hair mask, shaving, scrubbing my body...too much!). My go-to products for when I want to pamper myself are my Antipodes Manuka honey face mask, dry-brushing and a good rich body butter to make my skin soft, I have a favourite which is from Sephora with shea butter.
You actually gave me some inspiration for my next beauty buys, I need to get a mask to replace the Antipodes one and maybe the Honey&Oat could be the right one. What do you think?
    Have a great Sunday xx

I love the Aura mask too! I think its got more benefits for the skin than the Body Shop one which is great for polishing and hydrating the skin. Still, I would want both to choose from lol!

  10. I have dry skin & hair, so oils have been my go to for beauty products also. They really help to replenish what's loss via the winter months, heat & humidity etc. That honey & oat mask sounds extra nourishing :D
