top makeup for sping

The blossoms. The daisies. The longer days...The windy storms. The freezing temperatures. The blistering hot sun that hides for a few minutes to reveal wintery conditions. Yes, it's a typical Spring season for us here in UK. And yet again, I find myself more inclined to getting my makeup spring ready than my house. (I really should get onto that too!)

I planned to write this as a Top 5 post the way I did with my Autumn Makeup Picks post but I actually couldn't choose just five products. There are just so many things I'm finding myself reaching for these days that I apply on my face that sing SPRING! I did eventually manage to whittle it down so here are my Top Spring Makeup Picks that I'll be enjoying this season:

L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer | £9.99
This white liquid is ridding me of my fear of dewy bases and I find myself loving the illusion of glowing skin this creates. Underneath my foundation, this light-reflecting primer creates a beautiful glowy base that can easily be mistaken for a goodnight's sleep, youthfulness and naturally radiant skin. Made with super fine shimmer, you can use this as a liquid highlighter too for a more concentrated glow on the high points of the face.

And if you're going for glow, it doesn't get any more beautiful than this palette. I'm loving how finely milled each of these powders is, depositing the most beautiful sheen on the face that looks like it's coming from within. The face powders are unlike anything else I've used, perfectly diffusing light and creating a flawless, glowing base. The blush and bronzer shades also add to the glow making the face look radiant. I'm especially loving Luminous Flush and Dim Light right now.

Milani Cosmetics Baked Blush - Luminoso | £6 | featured & swatched here
Sticking with a glowing complexion, this infamous blush is my go-to this season. The perfect peach shade is baked with an irrisistible golden shimmer that brightens the face and makes for a happy, healthy, sunny complexion. I look at this blush and it looks like spring time in a pan.

KIKO Rebel Bouncy Blush - 02 Adorable Pink | review
This delightful cream formula is easy to apply for a pretty pop of colour on the cheeks. This shade is perfect for this season, bringing some brightness and perkiness to the complexion. I love how quick this is to use, patted on and blended nicely with the fingertips. The satin finish also means the face isn't left looking flat.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow - Desert | $5 | review & swatch here
I love a natural looking cream eyeshadow to brighten and even out my eyelids and recently I've been reaching for this satin finish light warm brown. It's very close to my natural skin tone making it discreet, which is perfect for me. It has a lovely sheen and delicate sparkle when it catches the light too. Sometimes I will take a medium matte brown shadow and use it in the crease for some definition but I love how fresh and awake this shadow makes me look.

Where I'm enjoying a dewy base which catches the light, I find myself loving a good matte lip these days.

MAC Matte Lipstick - Taupe | £15.50
I had a rocky start with this lipstick, feeling like it aged me and didn't suit me, but now I can't seem to get over it. This is a peachy brown which isn't quite a nude shade on me but also not bold by any means. It's a sophisticated shade that works so beautifully on my complexion. I love the creamy formula too which is comfortable and long lasting.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick - Patina | £16 | review & swatch here
As you know, I love my pink lipsticks and I waited a long time to get my mitts on this. It is that lovely dusky pink shade that brightens up my face and makes me happy to look at it. It's a perfect Spring shade which I can always count on to finish off any look that I'm doing. This liquid lipstick formula is incredible too.

ColourPop Lippie Stix - Brink | $5 | featured & swatched here
I'm also obsessed with this cutely packaged peach lipstick that packs a punch when it comes to pigmentation. It's an incredibly pretty shade that medium skin tones will love as it is about as perfect a peach lip as we can probably get. The creamy formula glides on and isn't fully matte, giving the lips a beautiful plump, satin finish.

There you have my Spring Makeup Picks. I feel like I'll be using most of these right through summer too because I love the way they look on me.
