5 Blushers For A Glowing Complexion

best shimmery blushers for a healthy glow

These days it's all about throwing glitter around on strategic points of the face to mimic luminous, youthful skin or indeed that you've been running cross-country which has left you beautifully flushed without the mud and fatigue. As gorgeous as the overall effect can be and as addictive as piling on the shimmer is, recently I've been avoiding this extra layer of makeup on my face and I'm enjoying certain blushes in my collection that add colour and sheen all at once for a healthy looking glow.

ESSENCE SILKY TOUCH BLUSH | Autumn Peach | £2.50
This peach blush deposits a very subtle sheen on the cheeks for a very pretty, healthy looking glow. The colour is very natural on my skintone and I love reaching for this when I want my makeup to look fresh and radiant.

MAX FACTOR CRÈME PUFF BLUSH | Seductive Pink | £8.99
This blush is part of my Top 10 Under £10 for a reason. The colour is magnificently swirled together with discreet shimmer particles that apply uniquely each time because of the intricate marbled design. It makes me look like I'm glowing from within.

NARS DUAL INTENSITY BLUSH | Fervor | £30
I love both these shades separately (see swatch of darker shade below) when I swirl my brush to pick up both of these together it is truly a unique and striking payoff. The colour is rusty and pink and purple and maroon all at the same time, and all the while catching the light to reveal a beautiful sheen.

Excuse my English (UK) spelling mistake ;)

SLEEK BLUSH BY 3 - Lace | Guipure | £9.99
Almost identical to their infamous Rose Gold blush, if not completely identical, this peachy pink with gold shimmer needs no helping hand in the glow department. It is striking but not overly glittery, making the colour look even more fabulous when worn. I love this blush for special occasions.

SOAP & GLORY LOVE AT FIRST BLUSH | £11
Finally, a newer addiction to my collection by my favourite brand. This is a frosty pink blush that can be swept on for a light pink sheen or used a highlighter on the tops of the cheekbones for a really obvious glow. I like how this brightens my complexion instantly.

So there you have my secret to faking a perfect, glowing complexion. Yes, diet and skincare are very important but sometimes a girl just needs a little helping hand without having to pile on layer after layer of makeup to achieve it.

What are your favourite glowing blushes? Could you skip the highlighter step or are you a highlighting addict? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me. As always, you're more than welcome to come and say hi to me on my Instagram.

  4. Hello - thanks for this informative post! I'd hugely appreciate advice on where to buy the Essence peach blush, as it looks lovely in your swatch. Does anyone happen to know if it can be purchased online? (I tried to find out but had no success). I do enjoy your blog, by the way - and this is my first comment! Thanks in advance, Ginny

    1. Hi Ginny, welcome and thank you for your lovely words. I buy essence products from Wilkos/Wilkinsons and they do have a stand alone stand in Westfield White City. I am not sure if you can purchase their products online though xxx
