Empties | November

One of my favourite bloggers - Beautylymin - regularly posts empties with mini reviews, so since I'm back to blogging, I thought I'd follow suit instead of posting these in batches on Instagram.

flatlay of dove, nuxe, soap and glory and the body shop empties

Here are my empties from the past few weeks and as always, it takes me ages to finish using things up, but when I do, I seem to get through loads together.

HAIR

After liking but not loving the Dove Advanced Hair Series Pure Care Dry Oil duo, I decided to try my luck with this Dove Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner £5.99 each which is the range aimed more at the 'finer haired club'. Again, I enjoyed using them and these definitely felt like they cleaned the hair more thoroughly than the oil version, but did nothing else. My hair still remained flat and fine and dull and frizzy after use. It does smell nice though, with that clean shampoo scent.
Will I repurchase? Probably not.
What's up next? L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oils Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner

I also finally used up Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Conditioner £4.99, which is meant to be a quick deep conditioning hair treatment that promises manageability, smoothing and shine. Personally I love the smell of this product more than anything else. Despite its claims, I feel like this just dries out my hair more and leaves it quite rough and frizzy.
Will I repurchase? No.
What's up next? I'm working on using up Dove Hair Nourishing Oil Care Repair Mask.

BATH & BODY

I'm obsessed with The Body Shop Glazed Apple scent so I'm ready to stock up on some goodies this season. I bought this Glazed Apple Bath Jelly £12 last year and I've enjoyed using it so much. The smell will forever remind me of moving into this house but the product itself is lovely to use. It produces a lot of bubbles, makes the water yummy and moisturising and leaves a lingering scent.
Will I repurchase? Yes!
What's up next? Apart from my Laura Mercier Honey Bath, I don't have any more of these bubble baths. I need to pick some up!

I picked up Dove Purely Pampering Almond Cream with Hibiscus Body Wash £2.59 a long time ago just as a matter of emergency rather than desire. I have a special fondness to try hibiscus products because they remind me of me of my honeymoon (insert soppy emoji here!). But I'm not a huge fan of the texture and the scent quickly changes from ok to quite strange. I can't describe it but it made me smell weird after having a shower. That for me is a deal breaker I'm afraid.
Will I repurchase? Nope!
What's up next? I've just cracked open another bottle of Soap & Glory Orangeasm.

An oldie but a goodie I finally managed to use up is Soap & Glory Butter Up, which was part of a gift set many a moon ago. Even though most of the fragrance had evaporated with the passing of time, the consistency of the body butter itself was as good as ever.
Will I repurchase? Not possible.
What's up next? A big fat tub of the original Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter!

SKINCARE

I won't talk much about Soap & Glory Heel Genius here because I feel like I have mentioned this quite a lot recently, but it should be noted that it has been replaced with a fresh new tube of the same goodness.

The one I forgot to include in the image is Soap & Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator Night & Flight Moisture Miracle £13 which is a deliciously thick and sweetly scented night cream. It is very nourishing and hydrating and allows the skin to remain plump and vibrant the next morning.
Will I repurchase? Yes.
What's up next? SuperFacialist Probiotic Overnight Skin Recovery Cream.

And finally, it wouldn't be an empties post of mine if it didn't include a hand cream. Nuxe Reve De Miel Hand & Nail Cream £11 is a rich hand cream that does a great job at keeping my hands hydrated without being greasy. My only gripe with it is that the scent is quite strong and perfume-y but I can't complain otherwise.
Will I repurchase? Not immediately since I have another tube to get through.
What's up next? I have at least 4 hand creams on the go at any one time. Welcome to the world of the chronically dry palmed!!!

So there's a quick round up of my latest empties. Let me know if you enjoy any of these or if you are interested in any of these items I've finished up. Let me know in the comments below or tweet me. As always, you're more than welcome to come and say hi to me on my Instagram.

  1. Thanks for the mention, Lovely! I love empties posts!

I absolutely agree with you on the Aussie 3 minute product - my mother loves it but it does nothing at all for my hair! I love the sound of the Soap & Glory night cream & am always on the hunt for a good night cream so might pick it up next time I'm in Boots! xx

  3. Aww, I used to love the original Aussie 3 minute miracle, but then they came out with a billion different variations and it sounds like some of them are misses. My skin has been ridiculously dry this fall/winter so the Soap & Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator Night & Flight Moisture Miracle sounds like it would be perfect!
