flatlay of autumnal makeup

Autumn!

The leaves are delicately falling. The days are getting shorter. The nights are getting colder. Except this Autumn something has happened for the very first time...

I'm finally on-board with changing up my makeup (ever so slightly) to get me looking and feeling autumnal. The knitted boots and leather gloves will have to wait a while for me still but here are My Top 5 Autumn Makeup Picks that I'm really enjoying this season:

close up of my favourite autumnal makeup choices

EYES

• I pretty much use a Maybelline Color Tattoo daily, Creamy Beige to be specific, but I've had Metallic Pomegranate for months and I've barely touched it. A beautiful warm burgundy with gold flecks running through it, there really could be no better time to use this.

• I'm really enjoying using reddish/orangey shades to define my eyes by placing them in the crease and KIKO Infinity Eyeshadow in 210 Satin Brick gives a lovely warm definition to my eyes that stands out. The satin finish blends really well Metallic Pomegrante for a very autumnal look.

FACE

NARS Blush in Dolce Vita gives my face a beautiful naturally flushed look and with its delicate sheen, it really does emulate the bright pop of colour the cold brings about as we bustle about. It's a great blusher for women of colour who need something that will show up nicely without being vibrant.

• Another blusher I also find myself drawn to recently is Sleek Blush in Suede. This is completely different in that the peachy brown warms up my complexion without any pink. It's a lovely contouring blush that is very discreet and natural looking on the cheeks.

LIPS

• Finally we have my recently molested Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Raisin which I bought last year as a bold move away from my usual pinky browns. Given that I've rarely touched it, I've decided this season to make as much use of it as possible. It's a rich plum shade that I personally find too bold just straight from the bullet, so for me I blot it away with a tissue and leave just the stain, which is gorgeous.

Although this is a break away from my norm, I'm actually really loving having these Autumnal makeup pieces to focus on because it's making me enjoy the season more and helping me to get accustomed to different looks.

  15. That colour tattoo is stunning. Very similar to MAC Cranberry eyeshadow. The Sleek blush is also so pretty. Haven't tried any of them yet because I feel the colours are more designed for people of darker skin tone but this colour would suit me. :)

  16. Definitely the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate is my top eyeshadow for Autumn. Is the perfect base for other eyeshadows but it also looks stunning by itself. I'm also addicted to this Sleek Blush in Suede. Perfect blush for this season:)
