affordable radiance balm from boots botanics that adds luminosity

There is a great pleasure to be had in finding an amazing product at a ridiculously low price and watching the face of an intrigued companion contort in shock when you reveal just how few pretty pennies this product of dreams will cost them. I bring you...'Budget Beauty' ;)

I've been a fan of the All Bright range for a couple of years now and there's very little that disappoints me from the Botanics line-up. But I have to say, I couldn't quite get my head around what this product was meant to be. A radiance serum? A glowy moisturiser? A luminous primer? A liquid highlighter? To be honest, I still don't actually know but it is great at being a lot of those things all at the same time and here's why:

Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm £5.99 (currently only £2.99) comes in a 50ml tube and the product itself is a peachy pink lotion that appears more iridescent lilac on the skin as you begin to blend it in. Eventually it has no colour and just leaves a subtle shimmer on the skin (under artificial lighting it can look glittery). It is quite fragranced which doesn't bother me but I can imagine it not being to everyone's liking because it is quite floral. I don't find it to have a particularly tacky or sticky finish which is always good.

I feel like if this product existed when I was a teenager, I wouldn't have bothered to ever wash my face. LOL! It really does give the complexion a radiant finish that is brighter and less tired-looking. It makes you look fresh and revived. Who doesn't want to look like that?!?

Given that I have combination skin, I don't think I would be able to just put this on and head out the door because I would literally be glistening in the most unflattering way within minutes. But as a primer, underneath my makeup, it has been amazing. It has meant that my only option doesn't have to be flat matte, which is what us oilier girls end up having to settle for. I rub a small amount of this all over my face, put on my foundation, and even though I still have to powder and lose some of the luminosity, it still gives my face that glow that we all aspire to.

All in all, I highly recommend this if you are like me and struggle to get a radiant finish with your foundations. Yes we all love to pile on the highlighter nowadays, but sometimes you just want to look like you're glowing from within without having to go overboard with the shimmer. This is a very affordable and effective way to achieve that healthy and bright base.

Have you tried this? What do you think? Do you think it is a dupe for Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, which many have compared this to? Let me know in the comments. Feel free to tweet me and come say hi to me on Instagram ;)
